What to bring to register for monthly food distribution

To receive monthly supplemental food, all new food clients must register with us. You will need to bring the following:

  • Social Security card
  • Photo ID
  • Proof of income
  • Proof of residence (utility bill or other mailing)

Senior Food Program

Texas County Food Pantry is a provider for the USDA Commodities Supplemental Food Program (Senior Box).  This program works to improve the nutrition and health of low-income individuals 60 years or older by supplementing their diets monthly, but is limited by the number of boxes available.

We have four satellite locations across the county that distribute Senior Boxes monthly at dedicated sites in Plato, Cabool, Summersville, and Licking. For more information, call 417-967-4484 and ask for the Food Manager.

Do you qualify for Food Stamps?

One Time Assistance

Families and individuals may receive one time assistance in cases where:

  • they have experienced a family or personal disaster.
  • they need a one time food boost to get them through a rough time.
  • they forgot to bring some of their registration identification with them.

Clients should see Carlene in the Main Office (First door on right when arriving) to fill out a One Time Assistance Form before entering the Food Department.  Hours for this service are the Food Department Hours listed above.
